Sani Top Chalet.
A variety of accommodation is offered to suit any budget and preference from up-market rondavels to backpacking facilities and camping. We have 10 luxury rondavels complete with double beds, fireplaces and en suite bathrooms. These sleep 2 people per room or the whole family in two separate rooms, all en suite.
Our backpackers accommodation is situated a short distance from the main building and is made up of 6 private rooms sleeping between 2 to 6 people per room. We do not offer dormitory accommodation. There is a shared ablutions facility. Linen is provided but please bring your own towels. In winter, the rooms are equipped with gas heaters. Self-catering facilities are provided or you can book meals through the chalet. Please try to arrange this before your stay.
Camping is also available for the more adventurous type! Campers can use the ablution facility and kitchen at the backpackers. Alternatively, book your meals through the chalet.
This is a lodge and not a hotel. Due to the nature of the place and location, things do not always go to plan. You need to come here leaving your normal life, in a normal environment behind you! The environment is harsh at such high altitudes so don’t forget warm clothing. The temperature can easily drop to -16o C in winter. The delivery of water is also most difficult during the winter months. There is either plenty or none at all. The water can freeze overnight making showers a luxury. We have a small generator for electrical power. It usually comes on at sunset and goes off between 9pm – 10pm. There are plug points in the main areas if you do not have one in your room. There are candles and matches provided for late night calls.
